Rodent Mitigation Consulting

Exclusion plans, food facility pest programs, and construction-phase consulting · U.S. and international

What Consulting Is

You bring us in to answer a question: why does this site have rodents, and what will it take to stop it? We assess the building and the grounds, document what we find, and hand you a written plan. Your own staff, your contractor, or your pest management company can carry it out, or we can direct the work.

The approach comes from the construction side. Rodents use the building the way it was built: along plumbing and electrical runs, through penetrations, across shared walls and shared sewer lines. Sealing the holes you can see is not a plan. Knowing how the structure connects is.

What We Consult On

Structural rodent exclusion

A full assessment of the building and site, and a written exclusion plan and specification: every opening documented with photos, the route rodents are using, the order to correct things in, and the materials named for each repair.

Food facility pest programs

Pest program development and review for SQF and food manufacturing facilities: monitoring layout, service documentation, trend records, and corrective actions, written to hold up at audit. SQF, PCQI, HACCP, and AIB credentialed.

Construction-phase consulting

Pre-construction, mid-construction, and post-construction. We work alongside your architect, general contractor, or engineer on enclosure design and rodent-proofing details, while they are still inexpensive to get right.

Second opinions for pest management companies

An outside assessment of an account that has not resolved. We work at your request, our findings go to you, and we do not solicit the accounts you bring us into.

Offshore and remote facilities

Consulting travels anywhere, including offshore installations. HUET, TWIC, and Tier 1 certified.

Speaking and field training

Conference sessions and hands-on field training on rodent work and exclusion, delivered for associations in the United States, Mexico, and Nigeria.

How an Engagement Works

  1. Phone consultation, no charge. Tell us about the site and what has been tried. Most situations can be sized up in one call, and we will tell you whether consulting is what you need.
  2. Site assessment. We come to the site and go through the building and grounds. Consulting is billed by the day at a rate agreed in advance, with travel, lodging, and meals at cost on projects that require travel.
  3. Written report and plan. You receive our findings with photos, the routes and entry points, and a prioritized plan with materials specified.
  4. Follow-through. We review the work as it is carried out and answer questions from whoever is doing it. Where it helps, the K9 team confirms where activity remains and when it is gone.

Who You Are Hiring

Consulting is led by Ryan Katz, who has spent 25 years in pest management with a focus on structural rodent exclusion. He speaks and teaches on rodent work and exclusion in the United States and abroad, and trains through the Purdue Pest Management Conference and the Bobby Corrigan Rodent Academy.
